Rik Mol (1985)
Rik Mol took private lessons from the likes of Maurice Andre, Theo Mertens and the renowned Wynton Marsalis.
While still a student, Mol joined many of his teachers at the Royal Conservatory in groups such as the Metropole Orchestra, Cubop City Big Band and Nueva Manteca. Within a few years he was appearing with different groups around the world and initiating projects of his own.
As early as 2004, Mol was winning competitions – just a few of which include; The European Trumpet Contest, the coveted Prinses Christina Concours, Yamaha soloist award (Germany) as well as the Prins Bernhardfonds Culture Award.
The awards gave Rik the opportunity to work and tour with other artists like: Steve Lukather, Chaka Kahn, Basement Jaxx, Armin van Buuren, Christian McBride Big Band, Robert Glasper, Michael Bolton and the WDR big band Cologne.
Rik has made 2 solo-albums so far:
